  Graduating Students

Take even a quick browse through our website and it’s obvious how much SET is achieving.

We give scholarships to hundreds of disadvantaged students and provide much-needed extra financial help to many more. We sponsor educational projects with both short and long-term benefits. We encourage our students’ personal development through the ‘SET for Society’ Program, which also benefits many other disadvantaged people. Every year for sixteen years, SET has improved and expanded its programs to reach increasing numbers of needy youngsters. We do it voluntarily, cost-effectively and with great enthusiasm. But we can’t do it at all without your support.

There are thousands of needy students in Thailand. They are often desperate to study, knowing that a decent education is the only way to escape from the bleak future that lies ahead for many of them. They just need encouragement, they just need support. Please help SET give them that encouragement and support by making a donation. SET is very cost-effective: no staff wages, no office rental costs, no vehicles and no expense account lunches. Even our low administration costs are covered by a donation dedicated by a supporter for that purpose. Every Baht, Dollar, Pound or Euro you give is used entirely to help needy students.

We want to make giving to SET as easy and as convenient as possible. Here are some of the ways you can donate:

From all countries

By Paypal.com: Donations can be made securely by credit card or bank transfer, via PayPal. Just enter the amount you want to give and click on the ‘Donate Now’ button, in the left hand column of this page. You can also set up a standing order to give weekly, monthly or annually. Donations come directly to The SET Foundation in Thailand.

By direct transfer: please instruct your bank to make an electronic transfer of funds to The SET Foundation account in Thailand. Be sure to give your bank our account number and the SWIFT code shown in the ‘Contact us’ panel.

By cheque/bank draft:
send your cheque/bank draft to the SET Foundation PO box in Thailand, made out to The SET Foundation.

From the UK/Europe

By cheque: send your cheque to Friends of SET-UK, made out to The Students’ Education Trust. Please include a note with your name and address or download the donation form here (*). A donation form can also be sent to you by post on request to Friends of SET-UK. Cheques must be in £ Sterling or Euro.

From the UK only

By bank standing order: regular payments by standing order, made monthly, quarterly or annually, are an excellent way for us to receive donations. They allow us to plan ahead and budget more accurately for the future. A standing order form can be downloaded here
(*) or can be sent to you by post on request to Friends of SET-UK. The completed form should be returned to Friends of SET-UK, not to your bank.

The value of donations from UK tax payers can be increased by a hefty 28 per cent, through the Gift Aid Scheme. We need you to fill in a one-off simple Declaration form so we can reclaim the tax. The form can be downloaded here
(*)or can be sent to you on request by post from Friends of SET-UK. The form should be returned to Friends of SET-UK.

By CAF voucher: Friends of SET-UK can accept donation vouchers or cheques from your Charities Aid Foundation account, but we cannot reclaim the tax rebate on donations made via CAF.

Give As You Earn (Payroll Giving): The Give As You Earn scheme is an easy way of donating directly from your pay. Donations are deducted before tax, so it costs you less and we get more. A simple Payroll Giving form can be downloaded here
(*). The form should be given to your employer’s payroll office, not sent to SET. Your employer must be registered with the Give As You Earn Scheme. For further details, visit the website: www.hmrc.gov.uk/payrollgiving

Plan ahead: please think about leaving us a gift in your will. Ask trustee Mrs Lesley Blood at Friends of SET-UK for help if you need it.

From the USA

By cheque: send your cheque to Friends of SET-USA, made out to Friends of SET-USA.  Please include a note with your name and address or download the donation form here
(*). A donation form can also be sent to you by post on request to Friends of SET-USA.

By bank standing order: regular payments by standing order, made monthly or annually, are an excellent way for us to receive donations. They allow us to plan ahead and budget accurately for the future.

From within Thailand

By direct transfer: you can transfer to The SET Foundation account by paying cash into any branch of Kasikorn Bank. Please advise the SET Thailand office of your donation so that a receipt can be sent to you.

By cheque: send your cheque (in Thai Baht) to the Thailand PO box, made out to The SET Foundation. Please do not send cash through the post.

However you make your donation, a receipt and letter of thanks will be sent to you.

Thank you for your support of our needy students
